Technology cannot make

Technology cannot make better meetings if it is not simple to use, or gets in the way and distracts. Here we will cut through marketing speak and “feature lists” and look at three specific applications that you can use immediately. Chances are, you have “wished for this” without even realizing its possible.

But first, it is important to note: I want to start this post with a disclaimer. All three of the tips listed below are centered around the Barco CSE-800 and with good justification. Barco Clickshare changed meetings once, and they are now doing it again.

While it was not the flashiest of feature-rich collaboration product on the market when it came out, the ClickShare CSC1 did what no other product did. It worked completely without hassle. It did one thing, and it did it flawlessly. It allowed you to take any computer, and present with the touch of a button. There were no wires and no fuss.

Since then there has

Since then there has been a host of new products and “features” flooding the marketplace claiming to make meetings better and more productive. Even with this new generation of competition, Clickshare has excelled in both adoption and reliability. It leaves one to ask, “Why?”. The answer is in its continued intuitive ability to “Just work.”

Now, the rule for all three of these applications is that they don’t require any training of staff to implement. They are all based on making what you naturally want to do possible, and still natural.

1. Touch

1. Touch

There are currently

There are currently more touch collaboration units in the market than you can count on both your fingers and toes. The big deal here, however, is what you can do with it inside of the ClickShare. Having touch, and “Being able to do something useful” with it are two very different things.

The CSE-800 supports

The CSE-800 supports your touch displays. Touch is an important feature to state here because of what you can do with it in the following tips. Being able to interact with your multiple screens, and annotate for all to see is an important feature. Setting it up is simple. You just touch your main display with two fingers, and you are now able to annotate right there. It is now as simple to annotate over your content, as it was to take the cap off of that dry erase pen. You can annotate over a single screen, or even all eight individual screens that are actively displayed. Everyone needs to write on the board during meetings. Finally, this is the real solution to replace that dry erase board, and never lose your work again when someone erases it. Now, this leads us to our second practical tip.

2. Annotation Saving.

2. Annotation Saving.

How you save and distribute the notes on the board is always one big problem. What happens to your work when it is on a dry erase board? Do you take photos of it or hope no one erases it? What about when you run out of space? Everyone does it. And new technology has only come so far to address this basic need we all have in meetings. “Is the USB stick full?” and “Can you Email me that note?” are two new common phrases heard in meetings every day around the world. The CSE-800 addresses this the same way it addressed touch annotation. Watch the video here to see it in action. It made it simple. There is a save icon available when you are annotating. Touch it, and it saves a snapshot of the displays. Many products allow you to save the screen. What makes betting meetings, however, is when you hit the save icon and every participant connected with the ClickShare button simultaneously has a copy of that image on their computer. No, more search, transferring or photographing needed. You need to save it, and you need to distribute it, and the CSE-800 does both automatically.

3. Connection Saving

3. Connection Saving

This might seem

This might seem too simple, but it is profoundly important. One of the biggest frustrations in the meeting room can be network security and connection. Does it happen all the time? Of course not. But when it does you can be sure it’s a point of anxiety. Having better meetings is about reducing that anxiety, and the CSE-800 is the first in its line to support dual network connectivity

This means you can

This means you can have guests present without sacrificing security and without adding hassle. You now have more flexibility to use ClickShare in more secure corporate environments and share and present without worry. IT security demands were heard and addressed, in a way that means as a user, you never have to “think about” how to make it work, it just continues to do so.

Now, do you provide or need better meetings with technology? Use one of these tips today to make sure you are a step ahead and can be the hero.
